“I write
because I slowly learned
that secrets flee the sun
and in the daylight poetry
is lexiconal fun”
What you say here, Bill, is so true–and beautifully said.
so true in how when we write we expose it to the light and let the secrets flee…and ha on your fun with linky in the comments…someone the other day accidentally called it mr kinky…which is something all together lexiconically fun…ha
Bill this is clearly one of my favorite frome yours… The first stanza and second one creates a completeness that I really like… paper drinking tears… thats great.
I post my manifesto
on something called “Mr Linky”
is it serious enough to be rhymed along with “slinky”
Perhaps like Martin Luther hammered home his thesis
I should have leveraged something to invoke kinesis….

yes, secrets are generally a bad idea. They hold us hostage – to ourselves and others.
I can hear the melody when I say these words in my head. “Secrets fleeing the Sun” is a brilliant line. Enjoyed reading this.
thanks – secrets generally cause problems – for governments, and people.
Brilliantly done – paper drinks tears we can not dry – such a great effect there.
thanks! a spiral notebook can never be hacked 🙂
‘that secrets flee the sun’ ~ love this secrets!~ thanks for stopping by xx
my pleasure to read your work… thanks
I adore the opening stanza…probably because I can definitely relate to the tears and truth. Lovely write.
Thanks – the second stanza’s a little stilted but it has a happy ending.
All the reasons we need to start writing and keep on writing…
Wow, love . . . because the paper drinks tears we cannot cry. So relatable.
the paper drinking tears we cannot cry… so very true…it def. helps to channel the emotions..
poetry is the emotion prose describes
and in the daylight poetry
is lexiconal fun
How true and how pitiful those as yet to discover its goodness, Billgncs!
Hank
thanks Hank !
YA! ♥♥♥
Love this, Bill – have a good day 🙂
thanks Eric – after a solid month of below freezing, well below freezing it was 34 degrees f, and it was a glorious day!
Poetry is fun! Yep….and the paper does “drink those tears”…writing poetry can be so cathartic. Excellent.
poetry is the emotion within the words, what prose describes, poetry summons.
Very nice, I especially like the rhythm.
thanks – I’m glad you read it.
I too love the beginning of your poem! Such powerful and apt imagery.
This is excellent!! I love especially
“I wrote
because the paper drinks
tears we cannot cry”
A perfect reason, I think!
“the paper drinks tears we cannot cry” – what a powerful and true image!

Poetry helped heal me. I suppose Mr kinky would have his own genre….
This is so sweet – and I don’t mean that in any kind of patronising way – it sums things up just perfectly.
will your voice soar when you read it ?
Opps – the wrong place – I wondered when you record yours if you will put strong emotions into it.
Oh, I think so… 🙂
This is lovely. Such good reasons to write and so well written. And thanks for your nice comment n mine. :o)

Thanks Bjorn – I appreciate that, though all my other works are resentful in an anthropomorphic kind of way 🙂
In my story, poetry really helped save me. And I am glad you stop by and read.
Indeed it is and so it was with this – a load of lexiconal fun. Grateful to you for adding your voice to the chorus today! Thanks.
