love is funny – dverse

April 30, 2015

Love is funny, it makes us cry
It started when you first caught my eye – ouch
I meant, that our love is like a rose
thorny and hard to hold…

But wait…
Love’s words like arrows must fly true
intent to screw… oh, I meant woo
As all the passionate must do

Let me repeat
love is humorous, and I have wept
that you’ll be windblown and swept
into my arms

  17. I hope after she caught your eye, she didn’t drop it and thus not get an out for her team. Nice fun clever write. And you always do such a grand job at working in rhymes. I doff my chateau to you.

I am smiling, chuckling & enjoying the “fun” every one is having with this deliriously humorous nonsensical prompt. Me too, wrote for hours, laughing as I scribbled, then blue-penciled most of it.

  19. This is very clever. Peace, Linda
