jobs – dverse

April 25, 2014

I always thought it funny
That Steve Jobs was such a honey
His ideas were kinda slick
but it seems he was a prick.
Perhaps his biggest legacy
Will be the cartel
To convince others
That switching jobs
Is not so swell.

  1. I saw the movie. Don’t know how accurate it was, but clearly Steve Jobs was a little heart impaired. His brain and corporate visions have contributed a lot.

  2. I didn’t read his autobiography but, yes, many who are competitive and innovative have a social impediment to the extreme I think…it depends on how many get hurt along the way whether it’s justifiable I venture to say.

Fun. My husband has been telling me all about SJ as he is reading the biography. I guess some visionaries are pricks indeed.

    • yeah – and to conspire to keep engineers from being able to switch jobs – speaks to a bit of hubris.

I do like this…I like the twist and play. A fun poem. Thanks for stopping by.

  5. Steve Jobs – perfectionist, brilliant designer, control freak ——- I’d like his stuff if I could stomach itunes….(aaaarrrrgh…what’s wrong with drag and drop?!!!_

  6. This is an apt eulogy of a talented, complicated man, flawed like the rest of us. I enjoyed this.

  7. I enjoyed your commentary ~ he did a swell job though of his job, smiles ~

  8. Awesome! poem. 🙂 Jobs was a prick just like mark zuckerberg. but at least they made results count and people follow. 🙂

I am back! and ready to blog again….Stay tune for my new upcoming poem. 🙂

  9. Well at least he helped a bit even if he himself was full of umm spit

  10. Leaders, visionaries, even those who are able to inspire with words, ideas, philosophy, often have a dark side and a controlling compulsive nature. I guess we tend to see what we want to see, and tend to forgive those who’ve achieved a great deal. Eventually.

Neat piece of writing! Apparently he wasn’t such a nice guy, but I’m still grateful for his innovations and I wish Apple still had him! Unfortunately I think his genius is irreplaceable.

  13. Jobs was a prick.. But he made results that counts..

Very funny! I also like the play on Jobs.

  15. he was a visionary…we need people like that…that can think outside of what others can see…but yeah they can be quite eccentric…

  16. ha – nice play on jobs’ jobs… he was a visionary – that’s what i like about him
