bell mare – poem horses

August 28, 2013

never corralled
the bell mare walks the fence till dawn
secretly free

From → haiku, poetry

  1. And yet, not free enough to cross the fence and to cross back again

Reminds of something a monk once told me – I remain in the monastry but am free in spirit. Many are free in the world or are they, really

  2. Wild horses are an ultimate symbol of freedom!

  3. remember that day we spent chasing the horses
how tired and hot we were
and how that one group hid among the trees
and we wished to the heavens there was a bell mare among them

  4. Standing unmoving
    Among the trees she grazes
    Silently hiding
