cardinal virtue, cardinal sins – poem

December 19, 2012

I have a window view at work, and a cardinal pair return there each year to battle their reflection in the glass

virtue

regal cardinal bright
adorned with pomp and plumage
bless me with beauty

sin?

the cardinal flies
again, again against the window
facing a foe
he cannot know
or rise above

  1. This is brilliant. Very well written.

  2. An appropriate and great symbol, I’ve taken as a religious or spiritual one, to provide a sense of peace and well-being and strength for healing and facing unknown forces.

    Enjoyed these, Randy

  3. I really like this pair!
